Men are assholes for one of two reasons
1. They Have had asshole girlfriends (not you)
2. They also need a hug

95% of guys are complete assholes (men are driven by their penis and ego first and brain second, even the 5% who aren't assholes have to fight their own biology hard sometimes, but can eventually exert self control before it's too late) and 100% of us make some stupid asshole decisions that affect ourselves and sometimes others, loved ones, friends etc.
Forgiveness is the most important quality in life, and we should be careful about putting anyone on a pedestal, to be human is to err (but also learning from these mistakes and developing is what sorts us from animals). But then again, no-one, man or woman, should ever put up with a serial philanderer, or any kind of abusive situation.
